The Kingdom of God!

Chapter 48

.

I pray that you read and thought about what I wrote to you last week! To fully understand what I wrote to you the Holy Spirit will have to reveal it to you. If you don't agree with what I said, go before the Lord and ask Him to reveal the truth to you! Jesus said in John 8:32,

"And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

Truth is not something to be afraid of! Truth is the only thing that will stand the test of fire that the Apostle Paul talked about in 1 Cor. 3:13-15,

"Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abides which he has built upon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire."

If you build your life on the truth, the fire of God will make your life shine before men. The revelation that you need from the Lord is the truth that you are spirit. Jesus told the woman at the well in John 4:23-24,

"But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."

If God is spirit and we are born of Him, then who are we! The answer is that we are spirit also! Jesus also said in John 6:63,

"The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing."

Paul said in 2 Cor. 2:11-13, (NIV)

"For who knows a person's thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us. This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words.

Paul also said in Eph. 1:13-14, (NIV)

"And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession,to the praise of his glory."

You must get a revelation from God that you are spirit! Your spirit is one with the Lord's Spirit. Paul said in 1 Cor. 6:17, (NIV)

"But whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit."

David made a statement in Psalm 37:4,

"Delight yourself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart."

Christians have often quoted this scripture to mean that if we will delight ourselves in the Lord, we can have anything we desire. However, what it really means is that if we will delight ourselves in the Lord, He will cause our hearts to desire what He desires!

Paul said in Phil. 2:12-13,

"Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which works in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure."

The Apostle John made a very bold statement in 1 John 5:18,

"We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him."

This passage of scripture has confounded Christians for a long time! The reason is because we know that we sometimes do things that is opposed to the word of the Lord. As a result, we dance around this verse in order to console our minds. However, the answer to this question is very simple but must be revealed to you by the Holy Spirit.

When you are born of God, your spirit becomes one with His Spirit, and His Spirit baptizes you into the Body of Christ. In 1 Cor. 12:13 Paul said,

"For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.

The truth is that we have been baptized into Christ by the Holy Spirit! The question is, do you believe that? Also, do you believe that there is any sin in Christ? The truth is that there is not! Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation. The old man has passed away and all things have become new! 2 Cor. 5:17, Do you believe that? Or do you rely on what the flesh is telling you? The flesh will say to you "Well, you know that you sin every day!"

As a result, to your agreeing with the flesh, you form an image of yourself as a sinner! So, you pray every day and ask the Lord to forgive you of your sins. But the truth is that the Apostle John said in 1 John 1:9,

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

Our prayer should be, "Lord, I repent of any sin I may have committed against thee today!" We know from what John said that if we will confess our sins, the Lord will forgive us! We don't have to ask Him to do something that He said He would do if we would just confess our sins!

Jesus gave a perfect example of this in John 4:9-14,

Jesus rose from supper and laid aside His garments, took a towel and girded Himself. After that, He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded. Then He came to Simon Peter. And Peter said to Him, "Lord, are You washing my feet?" Jesus answered and said to him, "What I am doing you do not understand now, but you will know after this.' Peter said to Him, "You shall never wash my feet!' Jesus answered him, "If I do not wash you, you have no part with Me." Simon Peter said to Him, "Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head!" Jesus said to him, "He who is bathed needs only to wash his feet, but is completely clean; and you are clean, but not all of you."

This is a powerful example the Lord left us! The spiritual application is that if we have been born again, as we walk each day, we get contaminated by our surroundings and from time to time we sin. That is why we repent and the Lord is faithful to forgive us and His blood cleanses us from all unrighteousness!

Therefore, we can come boldly before His throne of Grace and ask our petitions, knowing that we are righteous in His sight! He has no remembrance of our sins and no record of them when we confess them to Him!

We are spirit and we have been born of God. The Apostle John made a very powerful statement in 1 John 3:5-6,

"And you know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. Whosoever abides in him sins not: whosoever sins has not seen him, neither knows him."

If you have been born again, your spirit does not sin! However, as we walk in this world our soul gets contaminated and sometimes sins. We fight all our lives to control our soul and that is why Paul said in Phil. 2:12-13, (NIV)

"Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence, continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose."

When our soul sins we can go before the Lord and repent and He is faithful to forgives us! Remember, our soul is made up of our mind, will and emotions. We must learn to walk by the Spirit and we will not fulfill the desires of the flesh. Paul said in Gal. 5:16-18,

"Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that you cannot do the things that you would. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law."

The world does not understand this and many Christians don't understand this. This can only be revealed to you by the Holy Spirit! So, if you agree with the scriptures that I have shared with you, then begin to walk in the truth of the Word of the Lord by faith in what it says and the Holy Spirit will reveal it to you.
